Nile Delta Petroleum Company (South Sudan) Limited (NileDelta) held its 5th Board Meeting in June 2016, at the NDEP plc head office in Lagos.
The South Sudan delegation comprised of senior Nilepet (Nile Petroleum Corporation) Directors, the President of SIPET Engineering and Consultancy Services Co. Ltd (SPECS) and the Chairman of the Sovereign Investment Group.
It was the first time the Board Meeting was held in Lagos, which provided a unique opportunity for several strategic visits, held after the conclusion of the Board Meeting. These included an inspection of the NDPR Ogbele Oil and Gas Field, during which the MD of NileDelta, Mr. Machar Aciek Adar, was particularly impressed by the success of NDPR’s Mini Refinery, and committed his team to developing a similar concept in South Sudan.
The delegation also paid a courtesy visit to the Director of DPR, Mr. Mordecai Danteni Baba Ladan, in Lagos and visited the former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo in Ogun State.
Dr Layi Fatona, MD, NDPR, commented, ‘Since First Oil in 2005, the operational footprint of NDPR has grown significantly. We are now a fully Independent, integrated Pan African Company.
‘Our successful entry into South Sudan as JV partners with Nilepet demonstrates the value of the Ogbele Field development model and the benefit of sharing homegrown technical expertise with other African nations.’
NileDelta is a JV between NDPR Ltd and NilePet, with NDPR owning 49% and Nilepet 51%.
