NDEP Plc Awards a 3-year Student-Athlete Scholarship to Mercy Umoibang

Niger Delta Exploration & Production PLC (NDEP) has awarded a 3 Year Secondary School Scholarship to Mercy Umoibang, a 16-year-old SS1 Student.
After passing her entrance exams, Mercy will attend Princeton College in Surulere – Lagos, where she will be able to train after school hours, under Olympic Medalist Deji Aliu.
Mercy is a talented young athlete, supported by Making of Champions (MoC), a Sports Media & Management Company, created to elevate the profile and performance of Sports in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.
NDEP’s Scholarship will cover Mercy’s training, tuition, feeding and competition costs as she prepares to compete to represent Nigeria at the African Youth Games in Algeria in July, and hopefully the Youth Olympic Games in Argentina in October.
Mercy commenced her Athletics career from an early age, having developed an interest in running from primary school. She was discovered at the 2016 Heritage Bank Skoolimpics in Lagos where she represented her school, competing in the Girls’ 100m and winning her heat.
