NDEP Plc Supports Art Exhibition Showcasing Local Artistic Talents

Niger Delta Exploration & Production Plc, was pleased to support an art Exhibition, Unspoken Words, held at Terra Kulture, Victoria Island, Lagos from the 26th August, until the 31st August 2011.

The exhibition showcased the work of three prominent Nigerian artists, Diseye Tantua and Segun Aiyesan, based in Rivers State, and Gbenga Offo, based in Lagos State. The artists were chosen for the synergy of their work, and presented under the theme, Unspoken Words, which provided space for collaboration and allowed the artists to draw from their collective experiences.

‘Supporting local talent, whether through art, staff development or the activities of the NDPR Host Community Development Trust, is a key element of the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility remit’ said Dr ‘Layi Fatona, MD, NDEP Plc.

‘As an indigenous operating Company, with a long term interest in Nigeria, we are committed to the welfare of all our stakeholders and actively promote sustainable development in our area of operations’, continued Dr Fatona. ‘In this instance, we were happy to support established Nigerian artists, more so from the Niger Delta region, helping their work to reach a wider audience and enabling them to benefit from the sale of their work. Recognition should also go to our partners on this project, Terra Kulture for the smooth organisation of the Exhibition’.

The exhibition was a success with many guests attending the exhibition, leading to many works of art being sold.

Unspoken Words is the latest in a series of annual exhibitions to celebrate local artistic talent, organised by Terra Kulture, a Nigerian Cultural Centre set up to promote Nigerian arts and culture.
