NDEP, through NDPR, has invested heavily in infrastructures to harness the full potentials of the Ogbele asset.
The Ogbele Gas Processing Plant was built by NDPR to enable the Company develop and monetize its Gas Resources in the Ogbele Field, while complying with the Federal Government’s Gas Flares out policy for the production operations in the Ogbele Field.
Additionally, a 12’’ x 20km Gas Delivery Pipeline was also constructed by NDPR to deliver gas processed from the Gas Plant to the Bonny NLNG.
NDPR has endorsed the ‘Zero Routine Flaring by 2030’ initiative of the World Bank and in recognition of its effort, NDPR received the Excellence Award from the Global Gas Flare Reduction (GGFR) Forum, an arm of the World Bank in 2015.
Following the excellence achieved by NDPR with the successful elimination of routine flaring at Ogbele, NDPR is aiming for a similar attainment in other assets where it has interests.
In 2012, NDPR become the first and only Nigerian Independent Oil & Gas Company to deliver non-JV Gas volume to the Bonny NLNG system via a Gas sale and Purchase Agreement (GSPA) with the SPDC/Total/Agip/NNPC JV.
Since then, NDPR has begun the delivery of domestic gas supply to a local off taker. Other private companies have also expressed interest in purchasing gas directly from the Ogbele Plant. NDPR has reduced flaring to less than 0.05% of total gas produced in the Ogbele Field (Technical Flare).
